Dear Parents/Guardians,

If your child has a fever of 100 degrees or higher the night before or the morning of school, it is extremely important that you keep him home and resting until he is fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication.  Do not give your child Tylenol or Motrin in the morning and send him to school.  If your child was sent home with a fever during the school day, do not send him to school the next day.

If your child experiences vomiting or diarrhea during the night or before school, please keep him home.  Once again, children should stay in until it has been 24 hours since the last time they vomited.

Following these guidelines plus proper and frequent hand washing is the best way to prevent the spread of illness.  Keeping your child home and giving him enough time to rest and to have plenty of access to fluids helps him to recuperate much faster.  If any child comes to school with vomiting, nasal drainage or fever, they will be sent home.

Please call me if you have any questions or concerns about your child's health. Also, for further information and guidelines about the flu virus, please refer to the district website at www.bradleyschools.com  and click on "special announcements".
