September 2017

Greetings from Bradley Schools!

District and school report cards will be available on our district website sometime in early November. The Illinois State Board of Education is planning on releasing PARCC scores to the public in late October. Please take a moment to review our district information and PARCC scores as it relates to your schools and comparison to state scores. Students in grades 4-7 will be bringing home individual scores with their progress reports in early October.

The PARCC exam is aligned to the higher expectations of the Illinois Learning Standards and emphasizes students’ critical thinking, problem solving, and writing skills. Dr. Tony Smith, State Superintendent, that students in grades 3-8 will continue to take the PARCC assessment. The PARCC assessment is aligned with the Illinois Learning Standards, and its results provide information to assist educators in providing individualized supports for all students.

Our district and schools are continuing to implement Improvement Plans. Improvement Plans are intended to focus the attention and resources of the school on specific areas, such as subject content, instructional methods, and student assessment. The entire process is based upon how well the students are learning what the state has identified as critical for students to learn at their grade level.

Our school year is in full swing, I want to take the opportunity to thank the Bradley School District Community. Bradley Schools are a very special place to learn and work. We have a quality school system with dedicated students, staff, parents and community members. We're a team working together to help students strive for excellence.

Thank you for your continued support of Bradley Schools. Please feel free to contact me at 815-933-3371 or by email at
