The Office of Curriculum and Instruction serves the needs of the parents and professional staff of District 61.  The department oversees the creation and implementation of curriculum in all content areas for the Kindergarten through eighth grades and supports the assessment of student learning, locally and on state level assessments.

2012-2013 Focuses:

  • Curriculum alignment to Common Core State Standards as a continuum 
  • Professional Development Opportunities- sharing practices and new forms for reflection of PD
  • Improvement Plans for schools and district
    • NCLB, Corrective Year 1 for Bradley East School
  • Monitor RtI Programs for each building
  • Monitor PBIS Programs for each building
  • Evaluate State and local assessements 
  • Data collection and analysis in the classrooms
  • District & School Development, PBIS, Technology, and Math Curriculum Committees with collaboration of stake-holders
  • Consistency across the district with clear, open dialog with stakeholders
    • Use online forms to formulate databases for textbooks, PD, and meeting/team communication
